2007 - The Year of the Pig
 

We are approaching La Vida’s annual celebration of the Chinese New Year and Tet, the Vietnamese New Year. Our New Year Celebration has always been a wonderful time to reunite with others, meet new adoptive families and celebrate the wonderful cultures of Asia. We are happy to tell you that we will again be holding this year's event in King of Prussia, PA at the Valley Forge Convention Center.  We look forward to seeing you at this year’s celebration!  A printed invitation was sent the week of December 25, 2006 to all invited guests.  If you have recently enrolled in La Vida's China adoption program we would love to see you attend and a link to a registration form is included below.

ENTERTAINMENT

We will again be having everyone’s favorite puppeteers, Puppets Pizzazz, performing at this year’s celebration. We will also have many wonderful activities this year.  A DJ  will again be providing great music for enjoyment and dancing. There will be raffles to benefit our humanitarian aid/special needs fund, great food for all, a craft activity for the children, New Year gifts for all of the children and a return of our adoption related book vendor. We will also be joined this year by HometownChina, which will have Asian inspired products for sale.  Taffy the clown and face painters will again be entertaining the children.  Performers will be demonstrating traditional Chinese dance and providing an interactive dance experience for your children.  The children's dance instructor, Ya-Chih Chuang, was born in Taiwan and is a graduate of the Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Art.  Please click here to learn more about her.

Our Chinese folk painting artists will return again and we will be taking commemorative photos of your family which will be sent to you via e-mail after the event.  If you wish to have your family photographed, on the day of the event, please be prepared to provide us with an e-mail address to which we may send your photo.  La Vida staff and their family and friends will again volunteer their time to prepare for and host you on this wonderful day!

TABLE RESERVATIONS

Table reservations (for groups of 5 or more only) are a wonderful way for large family groups or travel groups to reserve space to sit together during the event.  On the reservation form we will ask that one representative from each reservation group complete the reservation form, list the family names to be included in the reservation and request the total number of desired seats (all adult and children).  Please click here for a table reservation form.      

GENERAL SEATING

To ensure that every individual has access to a seat we will be assigning seats this year.  We hope that this will prevent a challenge we had last year where seats filled up with baby gear and coats and some families had difficulty finding seating.

We ask that every family register upon entering and then enjoy a wonderful Oriental Buffet!  Please tell us your name and we will direct you to your table.
